I’m a Euro-Colombian. I was born in Cali Colombia but raised in Canada with European roots. So I have a lot of cultural mix in me. At any given time you will hear in my house Cumbia and Salsa or The Tragically Hip and 102.1 The Edge radio station from Toronto. I’m married to an Italian and we have two sons in their 20’s. So being creative, frugal at times, spontaneous and adventurous had been a must for me. Thus I lean primarily towards Italian cuisine, but I do love Moroccan, Indian, French and Thai to name a few. Sometimes I enjoy fusing different cultural flavours and other times I’m a stickler for the rules.

I love makeup, nail polish, fashion and everything spa related. But my true passion is food and writing about it.

I started working in a restaurant at 14 and then went on to have some pretty cool jobs over the years. I’ve been an event planner and cook for large events; a wedding organizer for a large resort company; personal chef; certified makeup artist; manicurist & pedicurist; worked in two spas and countless kitchens (but not at the same time)

I also focus on one food type and stick with it till I’ve perfected it. Whether its pastry or bread, meat or chicken, I am not satisfied with how its been prepared until its perfect. However, I am lactose intolerant and have a gluten intolerance. So many recipes I make are both lactose and gluten free or can easily be adapted, but I’m not specifically a gluten-free, lactose-free blogger.

To make things more interesting, in my 30’s we moved from Canada to Belize and suddenly was thrown into a world I knew very little about. There were lots of things I didn’t know how to make, how to build, how to deal with but I needed to figure out quickly before I lost my mind. My foundation for cooking helped me immensely but I was pushed farther living in a third-world country where regularly found, quality, affordable ingredients are hard to source.

Then there were other things to add to all of this, simple things too….Not rocket science! How do I dress in such hot humid weather? How do I keep my clothes from fading? What type of makeup to wear, if any at all. How to make food from home we were desperately missing!

Over the past 6 years I’ve learned a lot about living out of my comfort zone and now I’m sharing my secret tips with you so that when you make your move you’ll know how to do it with style, endurance and a little bit of sanity!

So that’s what this blog is all about. Years of perfecting recipes that I’m now passing onto you, my faithful readers! How to dress, care for skin, makeup tips and more from the places that I live in to the places I travel to. No matter where I’m living, whether its Canada, Belize, Colombia or farther, its still important for me to be my best.

I love you for following me and I hope to inspire you in your life the way I was. With my simple uncomplicated recipes you’ll be so proud of yourself!

ENJOY!!!
